Vacuum concrete : A concrete produced by applying a vacuum to the poured concrete by means of the forms or a separate mat, so that the pressure of the atmosphere expels some of the excess water, and at the same time compacts the concrete, making it firm enough to support its own weight and allow removal of the shuttering. This is effected by providing a filter (of cloth) and a vacuum chamber of wire mesh between the concrete and the shuttering.

Béton essoré (procédé Vacuum concrète) : Le béton est obtenu en aspirant à l`aide d`une pompe à vide l`eau du béton déversé grâce à des filtres séparateurs de manière à ce que la pression atmosphérique expulse l`eau excédentaire tant en compactant le béton, le rendant assez ferme pour supporter son propre poids et permette l`enlèvement du coffrage. L`aspiration a lieu grâce à des ventouses munies de filtres placées entre le béton et le mur de coffrage.
