Offtake regulator, Intake structure, Turnout, or Head of offtake : 1 - A structure built at the head of an offtaking branch or distributary channel to control and admit regulated supplies into it from the parent canal. Also called `intake structure`, `diversion structure` or `turnout`. Also commonly referred to as `head regulator` or `head of offtake`. 2 - See 2727 and 4625.
