4450. Baldeo balti : An ingenious device used to some extent in U.P. (India), consisting of two large boat-shaped buckets of iron hinged on a piece of wood placed on the edge of a water tank or channel. These buckets are filled alternatively. When one goes down, the other comes up and discharges water. It is operated by a bullock or a pair of bullocks.
